Tine Surel Lange is currently studying solo repertoire for viola da gamba composed by Tobias Hume and Diego Ortiz around the year 1600.
Since I studied early music and viola da gamba, I have spent 15 years as an interdisciplinary artist, filmmaker and composer, only playing viola da gamba occasionally as a session musician in my own pieces. I have now returned to the instrument with a newly found interest in some of my favorite melancholic pieces from around 1600.
Tine Surel Lange studied viola da gamba at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, Denmark with Mogens Rasmussen, and later continued studies privately with Italian virtuoso player and composer Paolo Pandolfo.
