A multichannel electroacoustic composition, based on field recordings from and around the Andenes Lighthouse on Andøya, Vesterålen, Northern Norway.

The sonic journey starts in the tidal zone where the seaweed captures and releases tiny air bubbles and the coarse white sand made from fragments of shells and cold water corals crackle when moved by waves. The journey continues going up through Andenes lighthouse itself during a stormy day and ends at the very top where the aurora borealis starts flickering all over the sky.

I Havet is originally composed as a 8-channel live electronics performance, now transfered into higher order ambisonics – a 3D sound panning technique.

Ambisonics is easy to adapt to various speaker setups, depending on the amount and placement of the speakers in a particular space.
